Trade Caddy vs Housecall Pro: Pricing Compared (2026)

September 2, 2026

How Trade Caddy and Housecall Pro compare on price in 2026, including which plan unlocks route optimization and what Housecall Pro charges per additional user.

Housecall Pro is aimed at established home service businesses, particularly in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. It is a capable platform. It is also priced for companies that already have a payroll, which is the main thing to understand before comparing it to Trade Caddy.

The per-seat number is the one to look at

Housecall Pro's additional users are $100/mo each on Essentials and $75/mo each on Max. Trade Caddy's are $10.

For a three person crew that is the difference between paying $69/mo and paying somewhere north of $380/mo. Both are defensible prices for what they are. They are simply built for different sized businesses, and it is worth being honest about which one you are.

Route optimization sits on the Max plan at $329/mo month-to-month. Essentials includes route grouping and sequencing, which is not the same thing as optimization.

Where Housecall Pro is genuinely the better choice

  • You run a larger home service company with dispatchers and multiple trucks.
  • You need the deeper marketing automation, call tracking, and consumer financing tools it offers.
  • You are in HVAC or plumbing, where it has the most specialised workflows and the largest install base.
  • You want a large partner and integration ecosystem.

Where Trade Caddy is the better choice

  • You are a solo operator or a small crew, where $75 to $100 per extra seat is not a rounding error.
  • You want route optimization without moving to a $329/mo plan.
  • Your work is recurring, like mowing or regular maintenance, rather than dispatch-driven emergency calls.
  • You want to trial it for a month without handing over a card.

About these numbers

Everything here comes from each company's own published pricing page, not from a review site. Software pricing moves, and plan contents move with it, so check theirs before you decide anything. If something below is out of date, it is a mistake rather than a sales tactic, and it will be corrected.

This comparison covers list pricing and what is included at each tier. It does not attempt to rank the software itself. Every one of these products is used successfully by real businesses.

Try it against your own route

The honest way to settle this is not a comparison table, it is your own customer list. Trade Caddy is $49/mo flat, $10/mo per additional user, with a 30-day free trial and no credit card to start. Put a week of real jobs in it and see whether it holds. If it does not, you have lost a week and no money. If it does, you know what you are switching from and exactly what it costs.
